A NOTE ABOUT FRIENDS
I have only a small number of friends. I prefer to keep the numbers small so I can check in on everyone’s pets each day. I limit my friends to folks I know in real life, those I chat with regularly, members who have potential breeding partners for my Labs, and people I’ve bought pups from, so they can stay in touch with them. Please don’t be offended if you ask to be my friend and I refuse you.
I love dogs and horses (particularly Morgan horses and Labradors/Lab mixes). I breed Morgans on a very limited basis, though I agonize over doing it because I worry about where they might end up. So far that has gone well; I have only bred 12 in 26 years as a breeder and 6 of them are still living here, with the rest in excellent homes. I keep tabs on them! Last summer we bought one of them back because at her age (18) I was worried about where she might end up.
Our RL dogs are Jackson (male, neutered) a beautiful black Lab who I rescued from a local shelter. He is the light of my life. His companion is Nellie, another Shelter rescue, a black retriever/Cattle dog mix (female, spayed). In May 2011 we adopted Sophie, another black mix puppy from the same shelter Nellie came from. Sophie is probably a Border Collie mixed with something curly coated- poodle perhaps!
I do graphic design (website and advertising design) for a living, and also sculpt/paint horses for limited edition resin casting for the model horse hobby.
My older Pokey and FooPet female Labs came to me because they were spayed and were having a hard time finding a home as a result. Other FooPets of mine were spayed or neutered by me as they were not breeding prospects and I wanted them simply as pets. There are too many unwanted pets in FooLand (it mimics RL so well, sadly) and I believe that only the best, high stat (preferably 5/5, but 4/5 and 3/5 with high stat totals can be carefully bred to create higher stat offspring, as well) purebred pets should be bred- if at all. This is simply because those are the pets that are most likely to find good permanent homes, and not because non purebred or low stat pets are somehow “lesser” Foopets. My spayed/neutered/low stat pets are appreciated here, and I hope that more FooPetters will begin to share this view and not place value on a pet only if it is breedable.
I have gathered a small nucleus of Ultra Stat/high stat breeding stock Labs for Morganhill Labradors. The breeding dogs are listed near the bottom of my profile and have the Morganhill prefix. I have only a few old enough to breed currently; I will not age accelerate and take time off their “lifespan”. My first litter of Foo Yellow Labs) can be seen here. Second litter, also Yellow Labs, can be seen here. Not sure if I will breed again since the changes came to FooPets with set prices and the reintroduction of first generation Labs into the AC. I don’t like to see pups from my litters end up in the AC.
MY FRIENDS WHO NO LONGER SHOW ON MY FRIENDS LIST (non Club Foo), but whose pets I will continue to care for as long as I am able-
