He is 10 years and 8 months old.
Hello! Welcome to Cycle’s profile. This profile represents my two ferrets as well as my third baby that unfortunately passed away in October of 2018.
So without further ado, allow me to introduce you to my babies.
I believe it was June 14th, 2017 when I adopted Noah. He was my first ferret and my baby boy. The second I saw and held him, I knew he was the one I wanted. The little guy gave me kisses as I held him. Before I even got home, I picked the name Noah Czerny for him, after one of my favorite characters from my favorite book series, The Raven Cycle. After seeing how he behaves and how his personality is, the name definitely fit him perfectly.
Noah was extremely shy when I first brought him home. He didn’t like being held or really pet at first, which is understandable. He didn’t know me. But after awhile he warmed up. He loved being pet and getting treats. Noah and Ronan bonded almost immediately and stayed very close. Unfortunately in October of 2018 Noah passed away in his favorite bed outside of the cage. He had been struggling with a kidney issue and had been back and forth from the vet for over a month. Things had started to look up but he took a turn for the worst and I knew my baby wouldn’t be with me much longer. The vet said there weren’t any options left if the last medication didn’t work. And it didn’t. I’ll spare you the very depressing details but I came home from work one night to him on the bottom of the cage struggling to move. I took him out and held him in my arms for over an hour then placed him in his favorite bed as he passed. He may not of been in my life for long, but he was my baby boy and I miss him every day. His ashes are in a beautiful white urn and placed on my bookshelf, right near The Raven Cycle. ♥
I had been going to Petco pretty frequently to look at the ferrets and was eyeing two of the biggest ones in the cage. One was very light brown, so much so that he was almost white, and one that was very dark brown. Eventually I asked to hold the light brown boy and after a few minutes, I didn’t really feel much of a bond with him unfortunately. I then asked to hold the dark brown one and fell absolutely in love with him. This led to Ronan Lynch.
I knew his name was going to be Ronan before I even finished filling out the paperwork. Just like with Noah, he was named after one of my favorite characters from The Raven Cycle. And again, the name fit him perfectly. When we first brought him home, he liked getting into trouble and to a degree he still does. He has definitely calmed down a bit and is more well behaved thankfully. To my surprise, he immediately bonded with Noah. He even somehow helped get Noah out of his shell and made him more playful and loving. He doesn’t have quite as much energy as the other boys do, but when he’s in a playful mood, he goes insane. It’s so much fun to watch him run and jump around. Oddly enough, he doesn’t really care for treats. He’s a picky eater.
Around late January, I started going into Petco every day. Mostly it was because there is nothing else to do around where I live off season but also because it’s fun to look at animals. I immediately fell in love with a ferret that had just arrived in their new batch. He was bigger than the other ones and a lot more chubby, making him very easy to spot whenever I came in the following days. I took pictures of him a lot. Something about him just captured my heart from the moment I saw him. One day I asked to hold him, even though I knew I shouldn’t of. Sometime in mid February I believe, he had been adopted. I knew it was coming eventually. I’ll admit I was sad but I was hoping he found a loving home with great people. I stopped going into Petco for a few days since they only had two ferrets left and found other ways to occupy myself. Then one day I went back in and guess who happened to be there? My little chubby ferret friend! One of the workers who recognizes me every time I go in happened to walk by and say, “he got returned yesterday, he’s 50% off.” I took it as a sign.
I was torn between naming him Adam or Gansey. Gansey just felt more right I guess. He is very energetic. More so than Ronan and Noah combined. At first I thought it was because he was still a baby but he’s over a year old now and still has just as much energy lol. Honestly I think Ronan gets annoyed with him at times since he always tries to play when Ronan is trying to sleep. I think Noah got annoyed too. But they tolerated him. I noticed Ronan and Gansey grew a lot closer during Noah’s illness and after his passing which makes me happy. I was worried mostly about Ronan, since Noah was basically always at his side. But he’s doing pretty good. I think they miss him.
Just a note to anyone curious since I used to post about my ferrets quite a bit. Yes, I did previously have more than these three however they belonged to my now ex boyfriend. We no longer have contact so I figured it would be best to remove them from this profile. I was informed that Lucifer ended up passing away, I don’t know what happened though. Sonic and Lucifer will always have a special spot in my heart and I hope Sonic is doing okay.
