“Gone, but never forgotten.”
“If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.”
There will never be a day where I will not think of you. It brings tears to my eyes thinking of all of the wonderful memories we shared growing up together. I miss you so so much, and I love you more than words can describe. I hope to be reunited with you once again in Heaven someday, at the Rainbow Bridge.
Rest in peace to the best dog a girl could possibly ask for.
March 2003 – April 22, 2016
Goodbye, my sweet boy. You’ll be in my heart forever.
This here was Simba, and he was a Shetland Sheepdog, born in March 2003. He meant a lot to me because I’ve grown up with him. I was told that 13 years ago my parents got Simba from a Sheltie breeder. He was born in Louisiana, and had to fly here to Missouri so he could meet his new family. He was only eight weeks old at the time so you can only imagine how terrified he was on the plane, as he was just a puppy. His name was originally Leo, but my parents changed it to Simba because The Lion King was popular at the time. When we first met him, it was love at first sight.
I don’t quite remember Simba’s younger years, but he’d been my pal since I was two. He had always been there, whether it be playing fetch in the backyard, going for walks, barking at EVERYTHING, or just peacefully lying at our feet. He was the best dog a person could ask for.
When Simba was eight, our veterinarian informed us that there was something wrong. His gallbladder was not as it should be. They said he might need to have it removed, but not a lot of veterinarians had done it before, and the chances of him surviving were slim. The doctor also had another idea. Simba had been taking pills to keep his gallbladder going, and he’d been eating prescription food for the past five years. He’d been super picky about eating his food though. Other than that, we’d seen him blossom into a strong old man.
April 22, 2016 - Your last day on Earth. Your kidneys and pancreas were failing. Your gallbladder was enlarged. You had blood poisoning. It was your time. Seeing them stick that needle in you killed me. I know you’re in a better place now, up in Heaven with God, but I feel as though a piece of my heart has been ripped out. I love and miss you so much Simba! ♥
He’s the most special out of all of my pets, so he gets the best scene!
He was set free from a closing shelter, seems hardened and may be warmhearted to you.
