Sadie is a female Dalmatian born April 10, 2016
and last adopted August 17, 2018.
She is 4 years and 3 months old.
Sadie here is my lovely dalmatian lost by -1 in intelligence. I bought her as a birthday present to myself for 15k from a good friend of mine, Ceri, or as most of you guys on foo would know her, TabbyCatBlack. Interestingly enough, Sadie is the first dalmatian I have ever owned on foo. Nevertheless, she plays a pretty big roll around here!
This girlie is named after my dog, Sadie. Sadie is my two year old deaf English Setter/Border Collie mix. We adopted her about a year ago with very little information on her background, but with some deep searching, we found out that before we had her, she had been adopted and sent back to shelters and foster homes four different times because of her behavior issues and had only spent a total of three months of her life not living in a shelter.
Sadie has some health issues including OCD, ADHD, PSTD, and a few other things that the vet is trying to work out. She has extreme anxiety and it makes her very difficult to work with. The fact that she is deaf makes her hard to train and makes if hard for her to get along well with other dogs, because if she accidentally hurts them while playing, she can’t hear them crying. She also chases and traumatizes my cats which stresses them out to the point of not coming out of a room for days at a time.
Aside from her issues though, as far as people go anyway, Sadie is one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever encountered. She gets hard to deal with, but we promised her a home when we took her in and I refuse to give up on her like so many people before me have. After being with us for a year, she has started getting over her trust issues and is becoming a bit more manageable, but still has a long way to go. We’re getting there though. :)
