Diana is a female Siamese born January 25, 2017
and last adopted September 23, 2017.
She is 3 years and 5 months old.
Maybe you know, maybe you don’t, but August 31st of this year (2017) remembered the 20th anniversary or the death of Princess Diana.
While I’ve never been one to follow celebrities, Princess Diana has always been one of my most beloved icons. When she was involved in the 1997 Paris car crash at just age 36, the whole world held in its breath and didn’t let go. Her time came before mine, so I wasn’t there in person, but I’ve fallen in love with her through readings and recordings over the years. I most admire her for using her royalty and public status to promote charity and overall goodness. She strove for love, life and compassion, and it was just..I dunno, beautiful.
So, if you haven’t figured it out yet, this beautiful kitty is named after the princess! c: I wasn’t too successful at first, but I had been looking to bring home my Diana ever since the shows and documentaries on her started flooding the TV a month or two before my search began. I chose a Siamese for her specifically because of their blue eyes, since that’s the most noticeable trait this girl and the real Diana have in common.
Diana was a blessing who came to me through a rehoming held by a lovely member called Achromatic. Diana was a part of her Space themed rehoming, and I knew from the second I saw her, I was meant to apply. Before I brought her home, her name was Luna!
My original application for Diana was very small, with only two or three sections and basic graphics and textile markups. I was very proud of it though, I thought it looked beautiful, and then I started looking at everyone else’s apps for him and started getting intimidated. The day the tread closed and tops were to be announced, her owner made a post about “looking at apps now,” and I rushed to go change up my app, take out all my markups, and throw in some quick graphics. They were all shades of green and yellow to try and match his war-theme, but at the end I thought it looked horrible and I was pretty sure I wouldn’t make tops. I wished terribly I had left it the way it was, it felt more like “me” before i tried to compare it to the other apps.
To my surprise though, it turned out that the top six for Taehyung had been posted already while I was still trying to fix my application. I looked down the list with dismay, already knowing in my gut that my name wouldn’t be there. Empress, Zombs, semisweets, desirabull, Laura… Riiptiide? No way. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, I was so certain I wouldn’t make it, but there way my name! I was so excited that my sister who was sitting on the couch next to me asked why I was “smiling at my computer like an idiot.” I didn’t know how to answer her without sounding even more like a helpless cause, so I just went on smiling and made a post thanking the owner and congratulating the other members and tops for other pets.
Our task was to design a profile and scene for Luna, and I won’t lie, it was a little tedious. I later was grateful to this though, because I know that I often procrastinate the heck out of my profiles and am not the best with scenes, so if I didn’t get it done now, there would be a chance that she wouldn’t have one for the next year, and I wouldn’t want that to happen.
The rest of this section will be about the next round of tops (if there is one), and about the winner being posted. These things haven’t happened yet so I’ve left them out for now, but I will fill them in as they happen. c:
