Hi welcome to Reaper’s profile! He is a legacy male pokey husky who was won in Sandy/Western’s Halloween rehoming! I had heard that Sandy was going to host another rehoming with Western for halloween, but I didn’t know what pets were going to be involved. Whenever the thread finally went up, I remember clicking and scrolling through the pets. Two MLPHs were being rehomed, but Reaper was the one who stuck out to me. I don’t know why, but I liked that he was younger than the other MLPH that was being rehomed.
I applied for Reaper, a lost Black Mix named Raven, and a lost Marley Lab named Moonlight. I ended up moving up to Round 2 with Reaper and Moonlight, but I was so thrilled to continue to move with Reaper. I loved Moonlight, but this boy right here was my goal. He was the one I really wanted to bring into my home. I remember there being one more task, although I don’t remember what it was given i was really in and our of focus during this time of my life. But then it was a waiting game. Everyone in the rehoming talked and had fun as the Final Homes were being decided. I remember whenever I homes were announced I kept going to the wrong page XD My heart was pounding and my hands were shaking, so I kept missclicking. Especially since I was on my phone, and the page numbers were so close to one another. Finally I looked through the list …. and Reaper’s home wasn’t there? Or so I thought. He had gotten moved up a line with another pet. So I looked and it was my name!? I couldn’t believe it, and I thanked Sandy for allowing me to bring this handsome boy into my home. It seem so surreal that he was actually coming into my home.
Reaper means the world to me because he is a symbol that I was good enough. It sounds weird, but for the longest time I didn’t think that my home would ever be good enough to win a rehoming. I won a few smaller ones, but this was huge. Lots of people who normally just lurk around were applying. People I didn’t even know were still active on the site!? So for me to be able to rise above everyone to prove that I was the best home for Reaper really helps me view myself different. I didn’t change his name like I was planning to. I kept his name Reaper because he is reaping away the negative thoughts that I use to have about myself surrounding my home. Reaper helps me realize that I am good enough and that I am, in fact, a wonderful home. And people see that. That it isn’t just my imagination, other people see my home fit enough for such a rare and handsome boy. So because of Reaper I am finally able to view my home the ways.
