Lilly was my childhood dog. We got her in March of 2009, and I couldn’t have been happier about it! When we went to the breeder, there were three puppies left – a chocolate lab and two black labs. I chose the chocolate one, Purple Girl, because I felt bad she was the only brown one left (8 year old logic), and I have never regretted the choice. We were able to bring her home a week or two after the initial picking, where she stayed with us until she passed away at the ripe old age of 10 and a half years old on June 19, 2018. A few months prior, we found out she had a lot of health problems, mainly arthritis in her hips, and pancreatic cancer. This dear old dog went through surgery on top of all of this, in order to try and help stop the cancer spread, but by then it was too late. The morning of 06/19/18, Lilly passed away peacefully after being but to sleep. A day hasn’t gone by that I haven’t thought about my sweet girl, and a day hasn’t gone by that I haven’t missed her. However, I know that she is no longer hurting and is in a better place now.
